Hashish and Marijuana |

Also referred to as: "Hash", "pot", "hemp", "joint sticks", "grass", "weed", "Mary Jane", "shit", "bhang", "tea", "Acapulco gold", "charas", "ganja", and "kif".

Hashish and Marijuana are two psychoactive drugs derived from the hemp plant Cannabis sativa. Obtained from the female flowers of the plant, cannabis products are among the most widespread and commonly used illegal drugs. Hashish is created from the resin of flower clusters. Parts of the flowers and the leaves may be included.
Marijuana is made of air-dried leaf, flower, and steam parts.
| » Appearance |
Sticky, brown powder which may have red, black and green shades Hemp flowers are resinous and sticky. When the flowers are dried and have undergone an extraction process, they produce a brownish, slightly sticky powder which has the characteristic odor of hashish. The powder is often compressed into blocks.
The origin of the hashish can be easily determined. Blackish hashish comes from Nepal and Afghanistan, dark hashish from Pakistan, brown hashish from Morocco, red hashish from Lebanon, and greenish/hay-colored hashish from Turkey.

| » Modes of use |
Hashish and marijuana can be smoked, taken orally and injected intravenously.
It is smoked in a hand-rolled cigarette ("joint") or in special pipes ("shillums"). When smoked, they give off an unmistakably sweetish, hay-like smell.
Hashish cakes and jam are eaten. A tea may also be made of it.The effect of smoking is three times stronger than if eaten. When smoked, the THC level in the blood reaches its peak within 15-20 min. A "high" is reached within 15-30 min and continues for as long as the person smokes. The feeling of euphoria slowly subsides over a period of 3-4 hours.
